Three-part short update

Part One: Jersey Adventures

I just realized most of the pictures I took were on snapchat and thus have disappeared into the ether. Anyway, Princeton is the most beautiful campus I've ever seen in the U.S. I would go on so many dates there. Considering going full undergrad again just to spend four years on its sacred grounds.

Part Two: Strange Encounters at the Met

Part Three: #internlyfe

On my second day at work, someone gave me things to file and then I retrieved a package, and then when I came back they gave me things to proofread (because I killed my proofreading test and proved my worth) -- yay!!!!!!

Love,
Carrie

Edzo's

Two days ago, a couple friends and room two-oh-six decided to head to Edzo's burger shop!

Really though, it was the beginning of finals week and we really just wanted non-dining hall food. Plus Carrie had never been to Edzo's which is craaaayzy and needed to be dealt with right away.

Edzo's is basically known for it's delicious burgers, shakes, and gourmet fries. So we indulged in all three, except for me. I really can't stomach that much food.

If you can tell, we just indulged, and then proceeded to not get much studying done the rest of Monday.

Hope everyone is having a great finals week!

my top 6 best ideas (as judged by carrie)

This is a running list that Carrie and I have. It basically lists my best ideas, judged by your very own Carrie. Since it's judged by Carrie, all of my best ideas are edible.

1.  chocolate covered bananas

I can't actually take a picture of this anymore because we ran out of chocolate syrup, but it was just a banana with chocolate syrup drizzled over it. It tastes even better if the banana has been chilled beforehand.

2. ?????

Neither of us can remember what my second best idea is. We know it exists. Therefore, I still get credit for it.

3. coconut granola and honey flavored greek yogurt

It's the combination of the coconutty granola and the creamy greek yogurt. It's delicious, filling, and full of protein. A perfect healthy addition to our college snacking experience.

The Greek Gods brand of greek yogurt is my favorite. And Carrie's favorite. It deserves its own picture.

4. mint + green tea with honey

Specifically, Tazo's Refresh coupled with Tazo's Zen. It's as if those two were made for each other. It's a treat for sore throats and just delicious in general.

5. my fancy coffee

This is just some double strength brewed coffee that's been chilled, and then blended in a blender with milk and sugar. A cheap college student's version of a Starbucks frappuccino. I don't have a picture for this because we can only make it when we get free samples of ground coffee in the mail, and right now...we don't have any.

6. microwaved pasta with olive oil and garlic salt

This only happened after my failed attempt at making mac and cheese in a microwave (the internet says it can be done). The garlic pasta is still delicious, and ridiculously cheap (you can get a box of pasta noodles for a dollar at CVS when it's on sale).

To highlight the pasta's deliciousness, pictures of Carrie enjoying (posing?) with a bowl of garlic salt pasta.

hoot hoot 206 chi-o's are cute

If y'all didn't know, both Carrie and I are part of Chi Omega. One of Chi Omega's symbols is the owl. At one point in the dorm room, I decided to try to take a picture of all the owls in our room. Here are a couple:

We have owls everywhere. Owls behind the dishes, on the walls, on our mugs, and on our windows!

Saturday, January 5, 2013

Hi all. My name is Carrie, the other half of "206 love connection." Last year, I lost a bet, the terms being that I'd have to dedicate a blog post to my roommate Yujin. Since about 90% of my body is composed of laziness, this is something I didn't get done.

At least that's the excuse I gave. Friends, I have a confession to make.

I am not actually a student at Northwestern University. Over the past quarters, you may have noticed my unusually high levels of adroitness, cunning, and keen perception--I mean I'm pretty much overflowing with these things so it's been hard to hide. It's both a blessing and a curse. I am actually a spy, an informant if you will, to a super secret agency. I'm sure this comes as a surprise to you, but think about it: these long arms would be absolutely wasted on academia.

I was sent on a mission to study the one and only Yujin. After four quarters, I'm pretty much an expert, yet I've become burdened by feelings of guilt. I suppose we've become quite the pair, and I cannot, in good conscience, maintain this illusion any longer. And so, as direct action against my agency (which will most likely lead to my violent death but idk it should be aight), I will reveal my findings on Yujin HERE ON THIS BLOG!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!

Yujin, Then and Now: A Case Study

Part 1: Childhood

Most of what I know of Yujin's childhood has been communicated to me merely through various stories and folklore. But despite this drawback, I feel like I've got a pretty accurate rendering of this period.

If you don't believe this is Yujin you are so wrong

Yujin's teacher, Mr. Irwin, received the most of her high-energy, jaunty attention when she would raise her hand and call out her famous catchphrase, "MR. EHRRRWYNNN." An example of this can be seen above in this actual moving photograph of young Yujin. During this time of her life, Yujin could also be seen galavanting along the hallways, thumbs under the straps of her backpack, generally acting a fool.

Unlike Yujin, almost nothing is known about her younger brother, Youngjin. He is the unsung mystery of this story, one I know we all wish we could sing.

Part 2: High School

Though difficult to glean information about Yujin's high school years because she so inconsiderately removed all pictures of herself on Facebook from that time (WE ALL KNOW WHAT HIGH SCHOOL WAS LIKE YUJIN YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE IT ALL DOWN), I still managed.

I've been steadily picking up hints here and there about Yujin's high school era. It's taken a while, but I feel I've finally gathered enough information to present a thorough understanding of what we're really dealing with when we talk about Yujin aged 14-18. Here's a composite sketch I've done:
Certainly the most accurate portrayal you'll find of highschooler Yujin

Part 3: Yujin Now

One word: DRAMA.

On a scale from one to those comedy/tragedy drama masks, Yujin is definitely those comedy/tragedy drama masks. When I think about Yujin, all I can do is gaze out the window into the dusk and sigh, "so drama."

This blog post is draining my energy so I'll just leave you with some random facts. Yujin also goes by the name, "Poojin," and on the occasion, "Poojina Maengmaeng." She is part of the "Da Tou" club because her head is abnormally large and round like a big belly. She is a confident rapper. She was distraught to find that Carrie still used Snow Leopard OS and forced her into Mountain Lion, even though Carrie has since been on numerous sites where people agreed that Mountain Lion was a downgrade. Wasn't worth my $20, I will tell you. Snow Leopard 4evr.

To sum up, Poojan's pretty great and I'm glad we are roomies and friends. The bounty hunters will probably be coming for me now but if it's Christoph Waltz then it's totally welcome. SO FINE FOR BEING 56 YEARS OLD.
